Zayus Claude "Z.C."Baker, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 22, 2010.. Z.C. was born Nov. 22,1917, in the Dicey community near Weatherford, Texas. During the 1930s, he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps, and in June 1940, he married Raybena "Ray" Morrison, who preceded him in death in the 2003. In the early 1940s, he and his family lived in Saginaw, Texas, and in the late 1940s, moved to Johnson Station (now part of south Arlington).. During that time, he worked for the Fort Worth School System as an electrician. In 1967, he moved to Willow Park, Texas. and became active in the early town development. During the 1970s, he served as town councilman and later as mayor for eight years. Z.C. was a Mason and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Littlejohn and Saundra Sue Ferguson; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.. Graveside service is 2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Zion Hill Cemetery..
