Tommimae Evans Adelizzi

STILLWATER, Okla. - Tommimae Evans Adelizzi, 93, died July 4, 2011, in Stillwater, Okla.. There will be a memorial later when her remains are buried in Ballew Springs Cemetery in Parker County, Texas. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.. She was born July 31, 1917, near Mineral Wells, Texas, in the farm home of her parents, Thomas Lanham and Maude Layne Evans. Tommimae graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1934. She became a dental assistant under the direction of Dr. Cruthcher and later worked as a dental assistant at Camp Wolters Army Camp, where she met her future husband, Dr. Francis Adelizzi. They moved to Philadelphia, Pa. After they divorced, Tomi moved to the Dallas area in 1973 where she worked as an office manager. The City of Carrolton commended her for her many hours spent helping feed the hungry. In 2006, Tomi moved to Stillwater, where she lived until her death. Tomi was baptized into the Catholic faith in 1944, and that faith remained a very important part of her life.. She is survived by nieces, Ruby Nell Basler, of Stillwater, Okla., Betty Wood, of Austin, Texas, Jackolin Vaughn, Sharon Moore,and Debra Novak of the Houston area, Andra Whitley, of Hallettsville, Texas, Linda Buchanan, of Arlington, Texas, Mary Douglas, of Kilgore, Texas, Janie Holsapple, of Sugarland, Texas; and a nephew, Luther Norman, of Bastrop, Texas.. Preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters, Nellie Norman, Lou Alice Kimbrough, Ava McCorkie and Rebecca Gude; two brothers, Ray Evans and Jack Evans; and a niece, Patricia Sherman.. The family owes a deep gratitude to the Stillwater Catholic deacons, especially Dick Berberet, who visited her so faithfully every week. The family also thanks Judith Karman Hospice nurses for their care and are grateful for the care she received at the Weshaven Nursing Home and Sterling House in Stillwater.. Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
