Weatherford - WEATHERFORD - Thomas Richard (Tom) Miller, 87, passed peacefully at home on March 10, 2026.

Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Granbury Cemetery, 901 N. Houston St., Granbury, Texas 76048.

Tom was born on June 11, 1938, to Arthur Clinton Miller and Bonnie Virginia Ashcraft in Roanoke, Texas. The third of four siblings, Thomas grew up and lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for most of his childhood and young adult life. After a short period in the US Navy, he settled back in the DFW area. He lived and worked in Weatherford for over 40 years, including building his own businesses there.

Tom, as he was known to his friends, had a widely varied professional life, as he was a commercial and private pilot, an auto mechanic, photographer, truck driver, and security guard to name just a few. And believe me, this is the short list. He was convinced he would eventually figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up.

He embodied the stern but caring parent, was a faithful and loving husband, and a kind, generous friend. He believed in helping his neighbors and community and continued to do so, as long as he was able.

Tom was a member of the Optimist Club, The Knights of Pythias, and the Ft. Worth Camera Club, among others.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Jessie Elizabeth (Betty) Miller; his parents, A.C. and Bonnie Miller; and his sisters, Helen Pringle and Doris Maxwell.

Thomas is survived by his brother, Jerry Miller of Ft. Worth; his children, Richard Miller of Paige, TX, Suzanne Scott of League City, TX, and Tama Gates of Weatherford, TX; stepson, Joel Russel of Ft. Worth Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
