Thomas Almanza, Sr. 64, of Mineral Wells, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 in Ft. Worth. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Rotan. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home from 6-8pm; the rosary service will begin at 6pm.

Thomas R. Almanza, Sr. was born March 7, 1953 in Rotan to parents, Serapio and Otila (Ramon) Almanza. Thomas loved playing bingo and scratch off lottery tickets. He enjoyed spending time outside barbecuing and singing with his friends and family. Thomas was a hard worker and held various jobs ethroughout his life.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Serapio and Otila; his son, Raymond; his brothers, Gustavo, Ysbel, and George; his sisters, Juana and Chona; and his sister-in-law, Lupe.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Joyce Barnett of Mineral Wells; 7 children, Thomas Almanza and wife, Christy, of Abilene, George Almanza and wife, Chasity of Abilene, Carlos Almanza and wife, Lydia, of Rotan, Paul Almanza and wife, Daniella, of Lubbock, Ruben Almanza of Mineral Wells, Shana Barnett and husband, Raynaldo Martinez of Mineral Wells; siblings, Ciprano Almanza of Anson, Andres Almanza and wife, Minnie, of Rotan, Johnny Almanza and wife, Tina, of Rotan, and Alicia Grimaldo and husband, Daniel, of Sweetwater, Mary Jane of Washington State; sister-in-law, Rosa Almanza of Rotan; 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
