Fort Worth, Texas - FORT WORTH - Terry James Bowman, born March 3, 1949, in Mansfield, TX, passed away from this heavenly earth on December 3, 2025, at the age of 76.

Terry grew up in Lake Charles LA, Africa, Puerto Rico, Maine, and North Carolina until his father was stationed at Carswell Air Force Base, where they made White Settlement, Texas their final home. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1967 where he played baseball.

Baseball was his first love, and he began his college education on a baseball scholarship to Cisco JR College. He then went on to work for General Motors and retired in 1992. He participated in the FWSSR every year with his brother doing the Wild Horse Race. He loved Rodeos, The Stockyards, Louisiana Downs, Caribbean cruises and his corvettes. He was a private person and liked things to be simple, no fuss and low cost. He enjoyed riding the backroads of Graford, Peaster and Weatherford, Texas, with his Chevy truck window down, playing George Jones. Country living is where he found his happiness.

Terry enjoyed his family very much. He lit up with a true sparkle in his baby blue eyes when his children or grandchildren were around. He laughed and joked the most when everyone was with him. You never saw him without starched wranglers, a button-down western shirt and his cowboy boots. He loved Merle Haggard, Willie & Waylon, Johnny Cash and his all-time favorite, George Jones. He also loved collecting coins and Dr. Pepper was his drink of choice 24/7.

His last two years were spent in Fort Worth near his children. Dad, we will miss you so much. Thank you for loving each of us in our own individual way and for showing us life outside of the city. Your legacy will continue. Now go ride off into that sunset on that old dirt road to the gates of Heaven.

Terry is survived by his children: Terri Lyn Bowman Robinson, Brian Bowman (Jennifer), Casie Bowman, Katy Watson (Chris), Clayton (Bo) Bowman (Jessica). Brother John Bowman and wife Debbie. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a nephew and numerous cousins and other extended family.

A private graveside service will be held on December 20, 2025, in Weatherford, TX. The family appreciates all the prayers and love during this difficult time.
