Susan G. Hill
Susan G. Hill Obituary
Weatherford - Susan G. Hill, 46, of Weatherford, Texas, lost her fight with leukemia on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Dallas, Texas with her family by her side.
For 19 months to the exact day of her diagnosis, Susan fought with bravery, courage, laughter, along with many tears and endless prayers. Susan's relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ became even deeper. Her greatest attribute is that she never wavered in her faith that God's will would be done.
Susan was born on May 23, 1979 in Weatherford, Texas, to Patsy J. (Aubrey) Corradino Hill and Ralph D. Hill. She attended Weatherford schools, was a 1998 graduate of Weatherford High School, and attended Weatherford College.
Susan always had a quick wit and a lively personality. Her vibrant personality touched everyone who knew her. She had an infectious laugh and was a gifted storyteller, Susan had a way of embellishing every tale, turning even simple moments into unforgettable memories.
Susan was an "animal whisperer." Her passion for all animals - large or small - was evident in the many critters and roadside strays she brought home over the years. It was no surprise then that she worked as a vet tech for 13 years and established her pet sitting business "FurPect Sitting." Her feline "kids" Hemingway and Hawthorne were always by her side.
In 2017, Susan became a graduate of the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine as a Master Herbalist and thus had an in-depth knowledge of herbs and essential oils and their practical applications as non-invasive herbal medicines.
Susan was a folklorist and a "legend hunter." She authored over fifteen books which included four books in her series "Urban Legends of the U.S.A." that covered native legends state by state, and those provided not only a good read but also doubled as road trip adventure guides.
In 2015, Susan was offered employment as a teacher at the local charter school, Cross Timbers Academy. She graciously accepted. In retrospect, she realized that this was God's divine plan for her life that required stepping out in trust and faith. Over the years, Susan, which her students called her Mama Hill, exhibited a great passion, connection and sensitivity to the dear students "her kids" under her care.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Hill; her father, Ralph Hill; and her surrogate father, Tom Corradino, Sr.
Susan is survived by her sisters, Kim (Mark) Hughes and Tracy (Terry) Pearson, and her brothers, T. Randy (Jennifer) Corradino and Andy Hill. Susan is also survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members.
The family would like to acknowledge the oncology staff at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth and at Medical City Hospital in Dallas where Susan received compassionate care throughout the last chapter of her life.
A Celebration of Life to honor Susan will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at her home church, Calvary Baptist Church, 2000 Lucas St, Weatherford, Texas, with Pastor Nathan A. Kozel officiating. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Susan's honor to the family.
For Though I Am Absent From You In Body,
I Am Present With You in Spirit and Delight To See
