LUBBOCK - Ronnie Abernathy, 63, passed Nov. 12, 2017, at Covenant Hospital.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Sanders Funeral Home, 1420 Main St., Lubbock, TX 79401.

He was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, graduating from Monterey High School and then South Plains College. He was employed at Clark Equipment until the business closed. He then opened and operated R.A. Glass and Mirror Company for many years before retiring to the Possum Kingdom Lake area. He later returned to Lubbock and opened and operated Lubbock Pet Grooming Inc. for many years before retiring because of health conditions.

Ronnie leaves to "cherish his memory" a daughter, Jessica Straughan and husband Clay; grandchildren, Brenna and Will; and mother, Louise Abernathy.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Abernathy (Oct. 4, 1994); and sister, Judy Kay Harrison (March 17, 2016) with surviving husband, Don Harrison, son Cody and family.
