Rebekah Lou Toles Deal (Pepper) Obituary

Weatherford, Texas - Rebekah Lou Toles Deal, lovingly known as "Pepper," went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2025, at the age of 81. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her devoted husband and her children.

Memorial service: A memorial service celebrating Pepper's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, in White's Chapel of Memories, with Steve Bryant officiating.

Born on February 18, 1944, in Freedom, Texas, Rebekah was the third of four children born to William Forest Toles and Nellie Jane Romine Toles. For years, her feisty spirit, creativity, and deep love for family were evident to all who knew her.

Rebekah was an avid reader, professional photographer and a gifted pianist who captured moments and memories with a keen eye and an artist's heart. Following in the sweet traditions of her mama, she delighted in baking treats for the people she loved. Nothing made her happier than doting on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—each of whom knew her simply and affectionately as "Pepper."

Her love extended far beyond people; Pepper had a soft spot for cats and every small, yappy dog that crossed her path, treating each one as part of the family. Her friends remember her for her ever-welcoming smile, her warm and encouraging words, and the way she made everyone feel at home. She treasured family traditions and passed them down to every generation who walked through her door.

Rebekah was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ray Toles, and Donal Toles; her granddaughter, Ashley Spring Deal; and her great-granddaughter, Angel Grace Deal.

Survivors: Pepper is survived by her beloved husband, James Robert Deal, and their children, Robbie and Donald Porter of Weatherford, Texas, James and Therese Deal of Bremerton, Washington, and Devrus Deal of Weatherford, Texas. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother of Rachel Wyatt and children, Lillian and Levi, of Springtown, Texas, Natalie Dings and husband, Patrick, and children, Matthew, Savannah, and Isabella, of Summerville, South Carolina, Stefanie Cook and husband, Adam, and children, Journey and Robert Jack, of St. Mary's, Georgia, Steven Deal and wife, Lacey, and children, Jackson, Presley, Autumn, Zane, and River, of Mexia, Texas, James Deal of Bremerton, Washington, Aaron Deal of Weatherford, Texas, Grace Walton and husband, Jasper of Eugene, Oregon, Miranda Deal of Abilene, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Vereda Koch and husband, Terry, of Wichita Falls, Texas.

Rebekah Lou "Pepper" Toles Deal will be remembered for her abiding love, her kindness, her creativity, and the legacy of family she cherished above all else. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
