Sergeant Major Randolfo Cesani was born and raised in the Bronx, New York to Carlo Juan Cesani and Yolanda Maria Alcover.

Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX, 76107. Reception: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, in the Live Oak Room. Inurnment: 2:15 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at DFW National Cemetery.

Randy graduated from a local high school and then enlisted into the United States Army. He chose to become a Professional Soldier and served his Nation for more than 22 years.

He attended Infantry Basic and Advanced Training and the Basic Airborne Training at Fort Benning, GA. Then he joined the 82d Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. He served as an Infantry Team and Squad Leader with the 173d Airborne Battle Group for a year in combat operations in the Republic of Vietnam in June 1965. Returning to Fort Bragg he volunteered for and completed Special Forces Training and was qualified as a Light and Heavy Weapons NCO.

Randy joined the 46th Special Forces Company (Airborne) in 1967, in Thailand and participated in training soldiers from SE Asian Countries in Counter Insurgency and other specialized techniques.

He returned to the Republic of Vietnam serving with the 5th Special Forces Group for a year and was returned to Thailand. Once again rotating to Vietnam and Thailand.

Master Sergeant Cesani returned to Fort Bragg in 1974 assigned as G3 Senior NCO at the Special Warfare Center.

Randy was then transferred to the POW/MIA Recovery Team in Hawaii for several years.

His final assignment was with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY where he served as a First Sergeant and then G3 Operations Sergeant Major prior to retiring from active duty.

Sergeant Major Cesani received numerous awards and accolades which include:

Bronze Star Medal 6th Oak Leaf Cluster w/"V" Device; Air Medal w/"V" Device; Purple Heart Medal 1st Oak Leaf Cluster; Meritorious Service Medal 2d Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Commendation Medal; Good Conduct Medal 6th Award; Combat Infantryman Badge; Master Parachutist Badge; Special Forces Tab, Vietnam service Medal and numerous service and unit awards.

Randy met Kathleen Nees, the love of his life, and they were married in Vicenza, Italy. They settled in Weatherford, TX and Randy taught Junior Reserved Officer Training at Northside and Diamond Hills High School for more than 15 years.

After a long illness requiring advanced memory care, Randy was escorted home to reunite with the "Love of His Life".

Randy is survived by his daughter, Elle and her husband, Jake.
