Paul Arlen Gerdes Obituary

Paul was born on October 17, 1939 in Milledgeville, IL. Paul was a proud Air Force Veteran. He married Joyce on December 29, 1960. Paul and his family settled in Aledo, TX in 1971, where he cultivated a successful career in the produce industry with Paul & Troy's Produce servicing businesses all over the DFW area. He also started local produce stands, Bushel - N - Peck. In 1976 he was a founding member of Aledo Athletics where he served as the league president for 10 years, providing a place for thousands of children to learn to love the game of baseball and softball.

Paul was a compassionate and loving husband, father, brother, and beloved Poppy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paul was known for his quick wit and was a friend to all he met. He prioritized family first, always putting their wellbeing and happiness above his own.

Paul is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Trudy; brother Gary; sister Cheryl; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Irene, father Edward, son Troy and daughter Lynette.

A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, March 31st at 12:00 PM. Visitation March 30th, 6 - 8 PM, also at Greenwood.
