Ophelia Irene Sadler, age 91, of Fort Worth, Texas
passed away peacefully at home with family by her side
on Sunday,May29, 2022.
Ophelia was born September 24,
1930 in Rural Hood County, Texas
to parents Willard AllenWoodand
Leta Alene Hendon. She attended
Tolar High School and later Fort
Worth Business College. Ophelia
married Mr. Alton Lancaster Sadler
on March 11,1950 in Tolar, Hood
County, Texas. She resided in in Hood County, Texas until
the age of 18 and then became a resident of Tarrant
County for 73 years. Ophelia worked as the office manager
for Lone Star Gas where she retired after 24 years.
She enjoyed spending time cooking, canning and making
jams and jellies for her friends and family. Gardening
on the family farm. Spending time with her grand children
and great grand children was the delight of her
world. Becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother
were one of her greatest achievements. Ophelia was a
member of the South Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children; Michael Sadler, Randall
Sadler, and wife Leah, five grandchildren and ten
great-grandchildren, siblings; Marvelle Skipper, Bedford,
Texas Bill Wood, Hurst, Texas Gary Sampley,
Krum, Texas, numerous nephews, nieces, and her husband's
brother and sister.
She is predeceased by her husband Alton Lancaster
Sadler, brother Melvin Lee Wood, brother-in-laws;
Robert Skipper and Darvin Sadler, sister-in-law Wanda
Woodand her nephew Bobby Skipper.
Avisitation for Ophelia will be held Monday, June 13,
2022 from 9:00AMto 10:00AMat Laurel Land Funeral
Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth,TX76134, followed
by a funeral service from 10:00AMto 11:00AM,
officiated by Senior Pastor Billy Parks of Crossmark
Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations
be made to charity of choice.
