San Marcos, Texas - Nita Kay Fidler, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away in New Braunfels, Texas, on July 30, 2026. She was born August 24, 1947, to Charles Wall and Nita Beth Milburn Hamilton in Fort Worth, Texas.

Kay attended Weatherford schools, continuing her education at Weatherford Junior College and Howard Payne College, before graduating with her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Tarleton State University. A lifelong lover of music, she played the piano and shared that joy with those around her. She dedicated over 20 years to teaching first through fourth grades at Brock Elementary School.

In 1967, while working at White's Funeral Home, Kay met Richard Fidler of Cresson. They married in 1969 at First Baptist Church of Weatherford and celebrated 57 years together earlier this year.

Kay is survived by her husband, Rick; her daughter, Lisa Livingston, and husband, David, of San Marcos; and her son, John Fidler, of Granbury. She leaves behind four grandchildren: Kaitlyn Montanez and husband, Clay; Taylor Albright and husband, Tyler; Jake Livingston; and Cassidy Livingston. She is also survived by her brother, Pat Hamilton, and his wife, Sharon; her sister-in-law, Kelly Lindner; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Beth Hamilton, and her brother, James Hamilton.

Kay will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strong Christian faith, and the joy she brought to those who knew her.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford, Texas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 15 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Weatherford.
