Michael "Mike" Amandelaro, 66, of Weatherford died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at Campbell Hospital.
Born Oct. 21, 1939, in Jersey City, N.J., Mike was a resident of Parker County for many years. He served four tours in Vietnam in the Marine Corp before retiring with 20 years of service, was the fire chief of Horseshoe Bend VFD, a Roman Catholic, a member of Parker County Marine Corp League, American Legion, VFW, Fire Fighters Association, Parker County Young Marines and was an alcohol and drug abuse counselor for a national organization. Mike was a devoted dad with a great sense of humor; he loved dogs and was loved by the community.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Amandelaro of Weatherford; son, Nicholas Amandelaro and fiancé, Abi of Fort Worth; daughter, Quien Collins and husband, Brian, of Springtown; and grandchildren, Michael, Brianna and Kate Collins.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Weatherford. Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
