WEATHERFORD - Matthew Anderson Sanderford, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. Matthew Jr. was born on April 29, 1948 in Cameron, Texas, the first born of Matthew and Dora Jean Sanderford. He served on the mission field with his parents in Uruguay as he was growing up, moving to El Paso in 1960 where he attended high school. He met the love of his life, Margarita Angulo, in El Paso and they spent 52 wonderful years together.

Matthew was a world-renowned engineer and a successful business owner for more than 40 years. Those closest to him knew him as a faithful, loving husband, loving father, kind friend, generous to a fault, always caring and making plans to care for those around him. Matthew touched countless lives and was a true living example of a Christ follower. He passed away doing exactly what he loved to do - serving God by helping local people/missions.

Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Margarita; five (5) children - David (wife, Melissa), Lisa (husband, Greg), Martha (husband, Shawn), Daniel and Sarah (husband, Scott); fourteen (14) grandchildren - Joshua, Judah, Hannah, Esther, Grace, Pierce, Jacquelyn, Adrienne, Faith, Ava, Nate, Ryan, Anna Joy and Nora Grace; and three (3) great grandchildren - Theadora, Oliver, and Magnolia. He is also survived by his two sisters, Sharon Sanderford Cummings (husband, Larry), and Lee Bell Sanderford Ulvestad (husband, Gregg), and numerous nieces and nephews. We all knew him as a man in love with Jesus, and his passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, John Mark Sanderford.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas, with internment to follow. A reception will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2910 Bethel Road, Weatherford, Texas, at noon.
