Margie D. Adams Obituary

Margie D. Adams, 86 of Bonita, was surrounded by family when she went home to glory Saturday, May 30. Margie was born January 3, 1934 in Brownwood, TX to Lural and Lorene Holcomb.

Margie met Jim Adams, and the two married July 3, 1959 in Fort Worth. Margie was everything Jim could hope for in a wife. She truly loved and cherished him all her life. She was loving and devoted. She was stubborn, but you have to be stubborn if you want to stay married for the long haul! And she was always in for the long haul. Last July, Jim and Margie celebrated 60 years of her "keeping him in line."

Margie worked for "Ma Bell" for several years after high school, until she and Jim had kids, when she became a stay-at-home mother. Margie took seriously her role as a mother, knowing that children are both a blessing and an incredible responsibility from the Lord.

Along the way, Margie was a longtime member of T.O.P.S. #0439, the Ranger Springs Rendezvous. Margie loved the times shared and relationships developed in both of these groups. Margie was a longtime, devoted member of Bonita Baptist Church, and she loved her church family.

The only love that exceeded for her family was Margie's love for the Lord. She fully embraced being a servant of Christ, and her faith was evident in the way she lived. She was full of grace, joy, and love. She was the very epitome of a "God-fearing woman." One of her favorite phrases was, "Did you pray about it?"

Margie was preceded in death by her parents Lural and Lorene, one brother Freddie Holcomb, and her daughter Jackie Adams.

Margie is survived by her loving husband Jim; daughters Dora Simon (and husband), Penny Adams, and Shirley Stanford, son Andrew Adams (and wife), Sister Nancy Coltharp (and husband Bob), brother Jonnie Holcomb (and wife Gayle), sister-in-law Cordelia Holcomb, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful Christian. While she goes on to enjoy the reward Jesus prepared for her, our hearts ache as we miss her, "until we meet again."

Due to current COVID restrictions, we will have to limit the number inside the funeral home at one time during visitation, but if you feel comfortable coming by, the family appreciates your support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bonita Baptist Church.
