Linda Gail Hake Obituary

Weatherford - Linda Gail Hake was born on March 12, 1955, in Weatherford, Texas, to Bob and Loretta Carney. She was raised on the family dairy farm alongside her three brothers, Robert, Kenny, and Dan. Bob was a dairyman/rancher and a weekend stock car racer at the Devil's bowl speedway in Dallas. Loretta was Weatherford College class representative of 1942. Growing up on the farm instilled in her a strong work ethic, a deep appreciation for family, and a lifelong love for animals.

The birth of her son, Brian, forever changed her life and became her greatest joy. There has never been a mother who loved her son more deeply or more faithfully than Linda loved Brian.

After beginning her banking career in Denton, Texas, Linda met and married Michael Hake who became a dad to Brian. They shared 47 years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on the very day the Lord called Linda home.

Throughout her professional career, Linda served as a Senior Business Analyst for several respected companies, including The Ross Perot Group, EDS, General Motors, Bank One, and Hewlett-Packard.

Outside of her career, Linda's greatest passion was horses. What began as a hobby blossomed into a 25-year family business with Mike breeding Straight Egyptian Arabians. She won many awards and loved the horses like her own children.

Nothing brought Linda greater joy than her family. She especially cherished her granddaughters, Brianna Grace, Sarah Faith and Madison, delighting in every opportunity to encourage them, celebrate their accomplishments, and simply spend time together.

Following retirement, Linda and Mike returned to her hometown of Weatherford, Texas, where she enjoyed being surrounded by family. Whether attending school events, sports competitions, holidays, birthdays, or simple gatherings at home, she treasured every opportunity to be with those she loved.

If Linda was remembered for one thing, it would be her tremendous love for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta Gilley Carney and Robert Carney and her brother Kenneth Carney of Weatherford.

She is survived by her husband Michael Hake.

Her son Brian Gholson (Casey) granddaughters Brianna, Sarah and Madison.

Her brothers Robert Carney (Judy) and Dan Carney (Sandy).

Her sisters-in-law Cathy Guay Honzell and Josie Thurmon.

Her nephew Paul (Casey) children Kayla (Kayla), Baily, Kenidee, Bradley, Berklea, and Kooper.
