Cleburne, Texas - Larry Kelm of Cleburne, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on June 12, 2026. He was 78 years old.
Larry will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a deep commitment to his family and community.
Born on February 5, 1948, Larry grew up in Mineral Wells, Texas and graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1966. He was raised by his parents, Lula and George Kelm, and his siblings, Kay Young and Bob Kelm. Larry graduated and played football for four years at Howard Payne and received his degree in 1970. He loved all sports, especially cheering on the Texas Longhorns. He was also a high school football and basketball coach in Cleburne for many years, a businessman, a warehouse manager for Accents Wholesale, and avid runner and cyclist.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Kay Kelm; his two sons, Dax Kelm (wife Caroline) and Ky Kelm (wife Caroline); and his cherished grandchildren, Remi, Cooper, Rivers, and Tag Kelm. His wisdom, sense of humor, and steady presence touched the lives of many. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cleburne.
Larry's life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church of Cleburne, Texas.
