Weatherford - Johnny Ray Shires, 58, passed away from this life on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
Born on November 2, 1966, in Weatherford, Texas, Johnny was the son of John Shires and Gail (Elders) Shires. He worked in the family business, John's Greenhouses, where he took pride in continuing a legacy of hard work and dedication. A member of First Baptist Church - Dennis, Johnny found joy in the outdoors. He especially loved hunting, fishing, and the thrill of riding his motorcycle.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Shires.
He is survived by his children, Trenten Shires, Nathan Seloover and wife, Jamie, and Lily Shires; grandchildren, Kohen Seloover and Kaison Seloover; former wife, Marlo Shires; father, John Shires and wife, Ida; and siblings, Paul Shires and wife, Brandy, and Patricia Cummings and husband, Mat. Johnny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church Dennis, located at 7600 FM 1189, Dennis, Texas 76439. Interment will follow at Brock Cemetery in Brock, Texas.
