Weatherford, Texas - John P. Alvarez, 76, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at his residence. John was born November 30, 1944 in Yoakum, Texas to Pedro and Guadalupe Perez Alvarez. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Julia, Joe, Elena, Carlos, Daniel, Fidel, Eli and Delia.

John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juanita; children, Neva Rodriguez and husband Alvaro, John Alvarez, Jr., and wife Sandra, Moses Alvarez and wife Jennifer; siblings, Rose Charles and husband Fernando, Francisco Alvarez and wife Susan, Esther Jimenez and husband Joe and Rachel Umanzor; seven grandchildren, Timothy Long, Whitney Long, Olivia Alvarez, Alex Alvarez, Evelyn Alvarez, Nicholas Alvarez and Taylor Alvarez, as well as his great granddaughter, Mila Alvarez.

Visitation: 6-8 pm, Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral Ceremony: 10 am, Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in East Greenwood Cemetery.
