James Stephen "Steve" Wells Obituary

Fort Worth - FORT WORTH - James Stephen "Steve" Wells, 67, passed away in Fort Worth, Texas Friday, Aug. 27, 2021.

He was born Jan. 5, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas to Virginia Inez McKinzie Wells and William H. Wells. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1972 and joined the U.S. Air Force. Steve married his

high school sweetheart Gayle Lee Young July 14, 1973. They were blessed with two children, Amy Wells Hudson and Joseph S. Wells. After serving in the Air Force for six years during the Vietnam era he started working at General Dynamics which later became Lockheed Martin. Steve's job allowed the family to live in several locations including Holland, Germany, Spain and Utah. He served on the Castleberry ISD school board for eight years. After being with Lockheed for 27 years, he worked as a LEAN Manufacturing Consultant with TXU/Luminant and later started his own consulting business JSWBrands. One of his passions was prison ministry and he loved using his motorcycles to share Jesus with any and

all.

While Steve found all of those things satisfying, his greatest pride and joy was his family and being Mush to his seven grandchildren. Whether that be spending time at the lake on the boat, hunting at the farm or riding his Harley. Some of our favorite times together were on the family memory making trips to the beach, the mountains, TCU Bowl Games and Disney World.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Wells; and mother, Aretta Young.

Steve was survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gayle; children, Amy Hudson and husband, Jeremy and Joey Wells and wife, Nicole; grandchildren, Grant Hudson, Molly Hudson, Scout Wells, Stetson Wells, Wyatt Wells, Libby Hudson and Jase Wells; father, Lon Young; brother, Steve Young; sister, Tammy Young; nephew, Jonathan Wells; along with a large loving family and countless friends.

Family, friends and others whose lives Steve touched are invited to

Greenwood Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at 6 p.m. for a visitation. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Central Christian Church with military honors. Graveside: Greenwood Memorial Park.
