STRAWN Ð Graydon Glen Abbott, 45, of Strawn, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Service was Saturday, July 7, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Troutman and Rev. Michael Orsini officiating. Burial was in Mt. Marion Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn, Texas.
The family received friends at the funeral home on the evening of July 6.
Glen was born Dec. 25, 1961, in Seymour, Texas, to Shawver and Katy (Hunt) Abbott. He was a graduate of Strawn High School where he was an outstanding athlete. Glen attended Ranger College on a track scholarship. He later went to work for Halliburton, working in Jacksboro and was en route to work in April 1982 he was involved in an automobile accident that left him disabled for the last 24 years.
Glen was preceded in death by his grandparents, G.H. and Pat Abbott and Gladys Hunt.
Glen is survived by his parents, Shawver and Katy Abbott of Strawn; a brother, Craig Abbott and wife, Dele, of Strawn; and a sister, Teresa Harrison and husband, Ralph, of Cisco; numerous aunts, uncles and many nieces and nephews.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
