Weatherford, Texas - George "Pete" Zanetti, born April 17, 1939, passed away on July 30, 2025.

He was born in Victorville, California to Anthony and Pearl Zanetti.

Pete joined the PRCA in 1950, at the young age of 11 years old.

As a child, Pete worked in his parents' bakery, "Desert Maid Bakery", in Victorville, Ca.

He served in the Army as a young man while starting a family.

Pete began riding horses at a very young age with his father and soon started roping. As a calf roper and team roper throughout his life, he traveled all over the United States. He started his own business, "Pete Zanetti Trailers", in Apple Valley, California

in 1979. He, with the help of his family, built over 270 custom aluminum horse trailers.

Those trailers became very well known, and to this day are considered collector's items in the horse industry.

In 1997, Pete and his wife, Jan Zanetti, moved to Weatherford, Texas and started "Zanetti Trailer Repair."

With themselves, family members, and devoted employees, Pete and Jan prospered well in the Cutting Horse Capital.

They both retired and closed the business in late 2021.

Pete was preceded in death by his youngest son, Tony Zanetti, in 2005. He is survived by his wife, 1 son, 3 stepchildren, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life on September 7, 2025 at 3:00pm, at the Parker County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo Grounds, as well as an informal interment at a later date in Victorville, California.
