Weatherford, Texas - WEATHERFORD - Eric Paul Hillis, 49, passed away peacefully at his home in Weatherford, Texas, on March 28, 2026.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107.

Eric was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, by his parents, Jack and Amy. He led a fun filled life full of adventure. He loved to travel and learn new things.

He met Jennifer soon after high school, and they were married in 2001. They spent almost 32 years together growing up, learning about life, traveling, meeting so many wonderful friends along the way, and raising two amazing boys, Ethan, 17, and Logan, 12.

Eric worked for U-Haul in many different capacities for nearly 30 years. He loved his shop family as his own and made many life long friends.

In January 2019, the war with glioblastoma began. Eric fought like the warrior he was for seven years, beating the odds stacked against him. He founded the rebellion team and set out to rise in opposition and rebel against brain cancer, helping to find new treatments and, hopefully someday a cure.

Eric was preceded in death by his older brother, Heath.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Ethan and Logan; his mother and father, Jackie and Amy Hillis; sister, Mollie Sims; two nieces, Brianna Solis and Madeleine Sims; and nephew, Kane Gardner; along with many friends and extended family.
