E. H. Ames Obituary

E. H. Ames Jr. passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.. E.H. was born in Blanchard, Okla., Feb. 24, 1933, the fourth child of Edgar and Mildred Puckett Ames. When he was a young child, the family moved to Texas settling in the Fox and Aledo communities. He married Harvalene Linthicum on Nov. 14, 1952. He retired from Texas Utilities after 42 years. He was a Korean veteran, a mason and a long time member of First Baptist Church of Aledo serving in many capacities of Christian work and various civic roles within his community.. Survivors include his wife, Harvalene; daughters, Kathy Pettit and Cheryl West and husband, Dan; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother.. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Aledo Brown Cemetery.. Visitation was Saturday at the funeral home..
