Mineral Wells, TX - Gene Ender passed away at his home on July 8, 2026 at the age of 81. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many people whose lives and careers he touched throughout the insurance industry. Gene began his career in the 1970s as a District Manager for Foremost Insurance Company. In the late 1970s, he founded American Insurance Markets, a managing general agency. In the early 1980s, he and his partner established Texas All Risk General Agency, reflecting his lifelong commitment to creating opportunities and building relationships in the industry. Later, Gene owned and operated an insurance agency in Mineral Wells, Texas, along with a real estate brokerage. His entrepreneurial spirit, practical wisdom, and dedication to helping others made him a respected mentor and industry leader. One of those he mentored was his nephew, Bruce Hart, President of Professional Insurance Executives / SPG Wholesale, LLC. Gene's guidance, experience, and example made a lasting impression on Bruce, his sister Debbie Eckart, Lynda Ender, and many others who knew and worked with him.

Gene enjoyed watching baseball, westerns, hunting, fishing, photography, and spending time at his cabin in New Mexico. At one point, he and his wife had as many as 15 buffalo, as they were his favorite animal, along with cats and dogs.

Gene was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Walter Ender and Emma Amelia Ender, nee Kelm.

He is also lovingly remembered and survived by his wife, Jeanette Ender; his son, Steve Ender; his daughter, Tiffani Lohden; and his stepdaughter, Christi Feustel.

Gene will be remembered with gratitude, respect, and affection by all who knew him.

The memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mineral Wells, TX (108 NW 4th Ave, 76067) on August 8th at 10 AM.
