Memorial service for Donald Gene (Duck) Alton will be Saturday, July 6, at Big Creek Cemetery in Big Creek, Mo.. Donald passed away Sunday, June 17, 2013, at a Mineral Wells nursing center after a long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 19, 1955, to Charles (Bill) and Mary (Betty) Alton in Houston, Mo.. Donald is survived by his father and stepmother, Bill and Evelyn Alton, of Summersville, Mo.; two sons, Lance and Jeff Alton, of Mountain View, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Daniel Cooper, of Mountain View, Mo.; and daughter and son-in-law, Carli and Shawn Robertson, of Summersville, Mo.. He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Deanna Alton, of Weatherford, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Willy and Doris Alton, of Mineral Wells; sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Billy Burks Sr., of Mineral Wells; and sister Melissa Holder.. Other survivors include four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alton, in 1999.. Donald graduated from Graford High School in 1974.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
