Weatherford - August 13, 1953 - August 7, 2026

Deborah Ann Hebert Mabry — known to nearly everyone as Mimi — passed away on August 7, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born August 13, 1953, in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Claude and Verda Hebert. Louisiana gave her the accent, the stories, and the conviction that anybody worth knowing was worth talking to for at least an hour. She was educated by the Carmelite sisters in Abbeville and graduated from New Iberia Senior High School in 1971 — a Catholic upbringing that stayed with her all her life.

Mimi's life took her from Abbeville to New Orleans, and then to Texas, where she lived in Weatherford and later Waxahachie. From there she went wherever her children were, spending

time in Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Oklahoma. She came back to Weatherford to be close to family, and that is where she spent her final years.

She was first married to Randy Luke, who preceded her in death. To that marriage was born her daughter, Randi.

She later married John Carl Mabry in 1977, and together they had two sons, Casey and Bradley.

John preceded her in death in 1999, and she carried on for more than two decades after — raising, working, showing up, and never once losing her spark.

She had a working life most people wouldn't believe if you laid it out on paper. She managed thoroughbred racing stables. She ran a bail bond operation. She built saunas. Mimi could walk

into an office, a barn, or a job site and figure out how it ought to be run, and then run it. She was proud of that, and she should have been.

She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Weatherford.

But if you knew Mimi, you didn't know her for any of that. You knew her because she talked to you. She loved conversation and she loved meeting people, and people gravitated to her — in line at the store, in the stands at a stock show, anywhere she happened to be standing. She was full of life and full of stories, and she'd tell you every one of them.

Her grandkids were her whole world. She was the loudest one in the stands and the first one to brag on them. She took the girls to get their nails done more times than anybody could count. She was there for their sporting events, their choir concerts, their FFA events, and their stock shows.

She would show up hours early to an elementary school program just to make sure she got a seat in the front row. She'd sit and listen to a fish story all the way to the end — and then go buy the fishing supplies.

She loved live music, and she loved going to hear it. Music venues and concerts were some of her favorite places to be — and she was happiest when she had family along with her.

She would give you the shirt off her back and then ask if you needed shoes too.

More than anything, Mimi made sure you knew she loved you. She never left that to chance. Not with her children, not with her grandchildren, not with anybody who came into her life. That's

the thing her family will carry, and it's the thing she'd want said.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Randy Luke and John Carl Mabry; her parents, Claude and Verda Hebert; and her brother, Brady Hebert.

She is survived by her daughter, Randi, and her husband, Daniel Guzman, of Adair, Oklahoma, and their children, Adriane, Cameron, and Kristiana Danielle; her son, Casey, and his wife,

Deidrea Mabry, of Weatherford, Texas, and their children, Reyse, Avery, and Brooklyn; her son, Bradley, and his wife, Chyla Mabry, of Crawford, Texas, and their children, Landry and Kenton; and her daughters, Sarah Mabry and Julie Mabry, both of Houston, Texas.

She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Scarlett, daughter of Kristiana Danielle; and by her brother, Patrick Hebert.

The family invites all who loved her to join them afterward for a meal and fellowship at St. Stephen's.
