Weatherford - Charlie (Charles) Verdell Haley, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, after a short illness.

Charlie was born in Alvarado, Texas, on October 14, 1927. He joined the Navy in 1945, serving in World War II, before starting a 40-year career in the oilfield. In 1952, he married the love of his life, Hazel, and went on to have four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Charlie was an avid gardener, fisherman, historian, and always enjoyed a good western movie or book. He took joy in traveling and spending time with his family.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; his son, Charles; and his three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his children, Cindy Mayse (David), Debbie Morrow (Rocky), and Laura Haley; daughter-in-law, Shirley Haley; his eight grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Allen, Julie, Mikey, Lauren, Kristen, and Robert; and his eight great-grandchildren, Nate, Alex, Jessalynn, Corbin, Colby, Caroline, Isla, and Hazel.

Charlie will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering commitment and love to his family and faith.

Friends and family are invited to Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel at 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, Texas 76086, on February 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. for visitation and 2:00 p.m. for funeral services. Graveside services will be held afterward at Zion Hill Cemetery, 139 Johnson Bend Rd., Weatherford, Texas 76088.
