Charles Edwin Allen Obituary

WEATHERFORD -- Charles Edwin Allen of Weatherford, was born on Nov. 4, 1941 in Marshall and the Lord called him home on April 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Lawrence Allen and Carrie Lucille Lee Allen and brother, Billy Lawrence Allen.

He worked at Bell Helicopter for 37 years and was Chief of Equipment Engineering at the time of his retirement in 2003. Charles traveled in his job and made more than 30 trips to Europe, including one trip to communist Yugoslavia.

Charles was a member of Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church where he served on several committees. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Europe, including Russia, and Alaska, Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard and watching Texas Rangers baseball and fightin' Texas Aggie football.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bettie Muse Allen; daughter, Sheri Ceglarek and husband, Steve; sons, Chuck Allen, and Ronnie Allen and wife, Ann Marie; granddaughters, Ronda Talamantez and husband, Harley, Charli Wrenn and husband, Brian, Kelsie Allen and Katie Allen; great-grandchildren, John Wrenn and Ellie Talamantez; sister-in-law, Ada Allen; and brother-in-law, Darrell Muse and wife, Jean. Charles is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Vickie Allen Benkendorfer, Larry Allen, Debbie Allen Luttrell, Cindie Allen Dillard, Laurie Muse Morehead, Morgan Muse, and their spouses and children.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church in Hudson Oaks, followed by the service at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. in Marshall at Colonial Gardens. Dr. Martin Knox will be officiating.
