Brenda Lou Abbott Galbreth, 70, died Aug, 11, 2012.. Mass is 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The Rosary is 10 a.m. Thursday in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.. Brenda was born in Midland, Texas, on Nov. 10, 1941, to O.B. and Wenona Abbott. She married Larry Galbreth on Oct. 5, 1968. Brenda graduated from Decatur Baptist College then continued her education at the University of New Mexico, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. She became an English teacher. She taught in Albuquerque, N.M., for 13 years until she became a polygraph examiner and co-owned a business with her husband. She retired from her polygraph career in 2000. She taught at Corrections Corporation of America and substitute taught at Mineral Wells High School until complete retirement in 2005.. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and friend and will be missed dearly. The world lost a light but God gained an Angel.. She is survived by her daughter, Chayley Galbreth; brother, Joe Abbott; nieces, Laura Abbott and Sunny Abbott; and great-nephews, John Paul and Benjamin Abbott Ross.. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Galbreth; stepson, Terrell Galbreth; and nephew, John Abbott.. Condolences may be left at www.bcbfuneralhome.com.. Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
