Bobbie Faye Haliburton Acker, 69, was welcomed into the arms of her heavenly father on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.

Graveside service is 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born Jan. 3, 1948, to Robert and Ora Faye Haliburton in Haskell, Texas. Bobbie began a life of adventure with her best friend, Gary Acker, on June 7, 1968. Their greatest adventures began with the birth of their daughters, Lisa and Renee. They added to their family by taking extra daughters and grandkids under their wings.

Bobbie worked in the Special Education Office of Mineral Wells Independent School District for over 30 years. She loved her job, and was loved in return. Bobbie enjoyed raising her family, being called Mimi, but most of all, spending time with her "Buddy" Gary. She and Gary were enjoying living on Lake Stamford after their retirement.

Memories of Bobbie will be treasured, as she left a legacy on every life she touched.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary; daughter, Renee; "adopted" daughter, Lisa Ann Hurley, and her children Garyn Robinson and Tres Hurley; "adopted" daughter, Bobbi Gonazales and her son, Cutter Bridges; sister-in-law, Frances Acker; brother-in-law, Jim Hairston, and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ora Faye, daughter Lisa, brother-in-law Stanley Acker, and sister-in-law Carole Hairston.
