Anita Gardner Obituary

Anita Gardner passed away on Tuesday April 18, 2023 in Weatherford, Tx. Anita was born in Houston, Tx in 1940. She grew up in Houston and then attended TCU where she received a BS and MS degree in Biology and met and later married her husband, Bill Gardner in Ft Worth.


Anita is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend to so many and spent her life serving others. She was a biology teacher at Texas Wesleyan University and later at Mineral Wells High School for 18 years where she also developed the Environmental Science Program and founded and directed the Wranglerette Drill Team. One of her greatest strengths was loving people, animals and nature.


Anita is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill Gardner, son Jim and wife Michelle Gardner, daughter Martha and husband Will Schafer and daughter Jennifer and husband Jeff Boyd; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grand-children.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 17 at 11AM at the Palo Pinto Co. Cowboy Church, Santo Tx.
