Alta Faye (White) Kendig, 89, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. Alta was born February 26, 1934, in Weatherford, Texas to the late E. A. White and Eunice (Wooley) White. She married the late Walter L. Kendig; together they had two sons, Glenn Kendig (Cindy) and Terry Kendig (Susan). Alta adored her grandchildren, Matthew Kendig (Kristine) and Lauren Kendig, and especially loved her great-granddaughter, Hollie. Additional survivors include her sister, Dolores Bohi. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brother, Gary White.

Alta was a member of North Side Baptist Church and the Country Crossroads Extension Education Association. She loved arranging flowers, cooking, and hosting parties. Early in her professional career Alta was a secretary for the City of Saginaw, followed by a position for the Southern Baptist Annuity Board in Dallas. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her compassionate nature and love of family.

A visitation and funeral service will be held Fri., October 20, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, TX 76086. The visitation begins at noon and the service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Van Houser. Burial will follow at Annetta Cemetery, Annetta, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Alta's name be made to the Country Crossroads Extension Education Club, 604 N. Main St #200, Weatherford, TX 76086. Flowers are acceptable and may be sent to the funeral home.
