GORDON - Jimmy D. Hill, Sr., 70, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 in Fort Worth.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at New Gordon Cemetery.
The family will accept friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.
Jimmy was born May 12, 1946, in Stephenville, to Alec Wilbar "Squeak" Hill and Davie Faye Stone Hill. He was a police officer in Corpus Christi, then transferred to the Stephenville Police Department, and was an owner/operator of a trucking business, and also was a small engine repairman. He married June Boudreaux Nov. 13, 1970 in Portland, Texas. Jimmy was in the United States Army and became a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the AM Vets, AARP and Bar-B Coffee Club. He loved guns, fixing cars and lawnmowers, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, June Hill; son, Jimmy D. Hill and wife Jennifer; two daughters, Melissa Penny and husband, Randy, and Katie Hill and fiancé, Kyle McCasland; brother, Jerry Hill and wife, Carolyn; and two grandsons, Dillon Penny and Kactus McCasland.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Squeak and Davie Edwards; brother, W.H. (Bob) Stone; and grandson, Shawn Penny.
