Janice Marie Walker, 71, of Millsap, passed away Feb. 8, 2017, at home with family by her side.
She was born to Virgil and Vida Martin Smethers on Oct. 20, 1945, in Weatherford. Janice and her husband owned several businesses in Weatherford including operating the local produce market for many years. She was a long-time and dedicated member of Beulah Baptist Church and loved to minister at the Center of Hope Food Pantry. Janice was a devoted wife and mother; her family was most important to her.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry; daughter, Jennifer Butcher and husband, Corey; sons, Joel Walker and Kristen Mann and Jerry Walker and wife Amy; sisters, Bonnie Smethers, Mary McBride, Patsy Ames, Shirley Murphy and husband, Jeff, and Nickey Gammill and husband, Don; brother, Johnny Smethers and wife, Ellen; five grandchildren, Molly McCullough and husband, Travis, Joel Walker, Jr., Jessica Walker, Anna Walker, Anden Butcher; three step-grandchildren, Paige Skyes, Abigail Skyes and Nathan Skyes; and one great grandchild, Jackson Walker.
Funeral service: 10 a.m, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Beulah Baptist Church with Bro. Gene Pickern officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Friday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family has suggested that memorials may be made in memory of Janice to The Center Of Hope.
