Barbara Alexander Rumfield, 79, of Weatherford, went to be with her lord, late Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Regional Medical Center, in Weatherford.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening, September 12, from 6 until 8, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street in Weatherford. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, at 10 am at the First Baptist Church, 222 West Church Street, in Weatherford with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or the Parker County Animal Shelter.
Barbara was born on June 30, 1937, in Weatherford where she was a life-time resident. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Weatherford. Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Weatherford High School. She married Ray Rumfield on August 2, 1956. Barbara was the first Ms. Senior Parker County Benefit for Meals-on-Wheels, also a senior center volunteer. She was also a seamstress for a chihuahua dog named Tinker Bell who won lots of rewards. Barbara loved to color, sew, cook, and bird watching. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Rumfield; son, Ray Rumfield, Jr.; cousins, Shirley Archer of Abilene, TX, Courtney Mason and wife Carolyn of Birmingham, AL, Thomas Mason and wife Deborah of Macon, GA and niece, Lola Kruse and husband J.M.; and by her special life-long friend, Nadeen Murphree; and by many friends.
In addition to her parents, Robert Lee and Faye (Claunch) Alexander, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Lee Rumfield and by her grandmother, Lillie Claunch.
