Tommy Williams, 61, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, February 19 after a tough battle with cancer. Tommy was an amazing, faithful Christian man, a fun-loving dad, and a hard-working husband with a heart as big as Texas. His gift was to serve, leading music at Bethel Methodist Church and as a deacon at First Baptist Church Weatherford. He was a huge Texas Tech fan - there was hardly a time he wasn't dressed in red and black! He made teaching and coaching his life's work. Softball was a big part of his spare time - 35 years coaching and umpiring - but he enjoyed all sports. He was a remarkable influence in so many lives; his impact may never be fully realized. His love had no bounds.
"No one has even seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us." -1 John 4:12
Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Williams, and survived by his wife, Linda, of 40 years; daughter Mikki; sons Randy and Matt; mom Easter; brothers Sammy, Terry, and Jerry; and grandchildren Caleb, Peyton, and Rylea.
Visitation is on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 1:00pm-2:00pm at First Baptist Church Weatherford, with a memorial service following at 2:00pm. To honor Tommy's Raider passion, the family asks those attending wear red and black. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Tommy Williams Scholarship fund to be established at a later date.
