Peggy Ellen's Story
Peggy Ellen Anderson Kennedy, 68, died March 26, 2017, peacefully at home in Weatherford after a short battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 31, 1948, in Kilgore to Ray and Gladys Anderson.
Peggy spent her early years in Burkburnett. She married Don after graduating high school and they had the opportunity to move to many different countries. They both entered full time ministry in Fort Worth in the early 1980s. After serving in pastoral positions for 25 years, they retired to Weatherford to be near and enjoy their grandchildren.
Peg enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing saxophone, leading women's retreats, making people laugh and most of all, loving people and leading them to the Lord.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don Kennedy; children, Katheryn Scarborough and husband Lee, Brian Kennedy and wife, Tonya, Neil Kennedy and wife, Michelle; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Andrew, Austin, Anderson, Liam and Isla; brother, Ronnie Anderson; and nephews, Christopher Anderson and Matthew Anderson.
"Don't say that I lost my battle with cancer. Say that I won the walk with life eternal."
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, from 2-4 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 100 Spring Creek Road, Weatherford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peg Kennedy Memorial Fund at Spring Creek Baptist Church.
