Norman's Story

Norman Ganoe, 94, of Weatherford, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, at Weatherford Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 26, at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 100 Spring Creek Road, in Weatherford. Burial will be held at 1:30, Saturday, at Hico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spring Creek Baptist Church. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Norman was born March 6, 1923, in Scottsdale, Pennsylvania to Henry and Meryl Ganoe. He married Mildred Trammell on August 21, 1949 and together celebrated 64 years of marriage. Norman proudly served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps repairing military airplanes. He was a long-time devoted member of Spring Creek Baptist Church serving as both a Deacon and an Elder. Norman was also devoted to his family.

Norman is survived by his siblings, Frank Ganoe of Tyler, Texas, Henry Pete Ganoe of San Angelo, Texas, Jackie Smith of Modesto, California, and Sue Ganoe of Tyler, Texas.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred in 2013; his infant son, Gail; and by his sister Nettie Harp.
