Marie Schaub was born on January 31, 1930 to Harold and Lila (Neal) James in Weatherford. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor's degree in General Studies. She married Charles Schaub in Fort Worth, TX. She was the first female Executive Assistant for Champlin Petroleum, in Fort Worth, where she worked until retirement. She was also a life member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a member of the East Neighborhood Association, and St. Peter's Eastern Orthodox Church. Marie was also involved with senior education at Texas Criminal Justice Coalition.

Marie enjoyed knitting, watching her great-granddaughters, playing Hand and Foot, and spending time with her beloved companions Zeke and Lyle. Her favorite passion was traveling the world to places such as Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Egypt. She also made trips across America with Chuck, but her favorite place to visit was Alaska.

Survivors include her children, James Grigsby of San Antonio, Susan Morris and husband, Fred of Lubbock; and Jack Grigsby of McLean; grandchildren, Justin Morris of Lubbock, and Jaci Grigsby Shaw and husband, Billy of Lefors; and great-grandchildren, Jovi Morris, and Mackenzie Morris. She is also survived by her closest friend of over 40 years, Dawn Cunningham, of Fort Worth, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schaub; parents; and two grandsons, Dustin Morris and Marcus Grigsby.
The family would like to thank Ashley Johnson and Darla with Hospice of Lubbock for their unconditional love and care. Linda Kinman, her knitting buddy, for taking time to visit Marie before and after she was diagnosed. They would also like to thank Jacque Howard, her hair dresser, for continually checking on her, coming to see her with a dozen yellow roses to brighten her room, and for the love and support she gave Susan and Fred. Dawn Cunningham drove from Fort Worth to Lubbock frequently where they would share many fond memories. Marie's wish to stay at home with Lyle could not have been possible without her son-in-law Fred Morris staying with her around the clock to care for her. He is a blessing to Marie and her children.
