Kaitlyn Malee Hughes, age 17, went to be with the Lord on Friday October 6th, 2017. Kaitlyn was born to James Hughes Jr. and Megan Scarborough Hughes in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kaitlyn attended Weatherford High School, where she worked diligently to finish all her high school requirements this December and was planning to attend Weatherford College in January. She excelled academically and participated in the high school choir. Kaitlyn will always be remembered for her positive-spunky attitude towards life. She always strived to be an uplifting spirit in the lives of everyone she knew. She enjoyed hanging out with friends, boating, and camping. Kaitlyn loved animals and wanted to be that person who rescued them all. Kaitlyn will be dearly missed and will have a lasting impact of love and happiness to all of those who knew her.
Kaitlyn is survived by her parents James D. Hughes Jr. and Megan Scarborough Hughes, and her twin sister Makenzie A. Hughes of Weatherford, Texas. She is survived by her grandparents Terry and Suzanne Scarborough of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Nancy Hughes of Texarkana, Texas. She is preceded in death by her grandfather James D. Hughes Sr. Kaitlyn is also survived by her cousin Amanda Hoglan, who is like a sister to Kaitlyn and Makenzie. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, October 13, 2017 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas with the Funeral Ceremony at 3:00 pm. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Parker County Cowboy Church 5050 FM 5, Aledo, TX 76008. Graveside services will be in the Peaster Cemetery.
