Juanita's Story

Text size

Juanita Jewell Quante Wood was born Sept. 7, 1918, at her family home in Weatherford and passed to her heavenly home on Oct. 3, 2016 at the age of 98.
Juanita lived her life to serve others. She volunteered at her church, her kids and grandkids schools and was always known for bringing food when someone was in need. After losing her husband Juanita started volunteering with cancer services to help transport patients to and from chemotherapy. Those that knew her knew she loved the color red, the Dallas Cowboys, roses of all colors, crossword puzzles, making calendars and to cook. Juanita loved her children, grandchildren and all her great grandkids above all else. Family holidays were her favorite times when she had all her kids together. But Juanita was also known for inviting extended family and friends to celebrate the holidays. At almost every family gathering the Woods family would be surrounded with lots of friends because Juanita just loved having people over.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, CA Wood; parents, Joe & Marcia Quante; brother, Glenn Quante; daughter, Glenna Wood Crawford; grandson, Larry Wood Jr.; and best friend Mary Francis Lane.
She is survived by son, Larry Wood; daughter, Nita Wood; and friend, Rodger Sharp; son-in-law, Rodney Crawford and wife, Dancy; grandchildren, Tammy and Rick Gazzola, Jana Barnes, Rodney and Lauren Crawford; great grandchildren, Eric Barnes, London Crawford, Major Crawford, Aly and Nic Kirk, Amber and Anthony McNitt, Ashley and John Griffin and Harmony and Tyler Randle; great great grandchildren, Anthony McNitt Jr. and Jayden Randle.
Graveside services for Juanita Wood will be Thursday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard.
