Janet's Story

Text size

Janet Norman Flynt, 58, reached her life goal of being in the care and presence of the one true and living God that her life was bent toward, on Friday evening, Feb. 17, 2017, following a brief illness. While she will be greatly missed, her impact on her family and friends and the memories of her kind and gentle spirit will be her enduring gift to them.
Janet lived all out for her Lord and Savior and her life exemplified her love for Jesus Christ. This was seen most in the way she loved others. She was a devoted wife, mother, "MiMi," and sister whose love for her family knew no end and whose love for others was inspirational. She touched and impacted people in every part of her life. She was active in her church and invaluable at her workplace, First Financial Bank. She was easy to love and respected by all who came to know her. While her love is inexpressible in words it was always evident through her beautiful smile that was full of joy and happiness. She truly was an example of the Proverbs 31 woman, being a wife of noble character, speaking wisdom and blessing over her people, opening her heart and hands to those in need, bringing good all the days of her life.
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:29
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lilburn and Ruthie Norman.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Flynt, Jr.; her sons, Colby Barnett (Millsap), Destin Flynt and wife, Leesha (Weatherford), Garret Flynt and wife, Lindsey (Haslet); grandchildren, Madison, Jaxson and Benjamin; brother, Randy Norman (Pangburn, AR), and sisters, LaDonna Norman (Weatherford) and Christine Youngblood (Millsap); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The celebration of Janet's life will be Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Millsap. A time of visiting will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jaxson Flynt Research Fund - Donor Drive (Janet's 4-year-old grandson, Jaxson, who has been diagnosed with Leigh's Disease, a terminal mitochondrial disease).
