Jane's Story

Jane Alice McDaniel, aged 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 1, 2016.
She was under the care of Hospice at the Holland Lake Nursing Center in Weatherford. Her daughter Tammy was holding her hand and singing, "The Old Rugged Cross," as she passed.
She was born Sharon Ann Colburn on Feb. 22, 1943, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Hale and Esther Colburn of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. She had a brother, Alan Colburn, and sister, Shirley Colburn.
At an early age, she and her sister Shirley were removed from their biological parents and adopted by Ted and Hazel Buck of Cornell, Wisconsin. At that time, her name was changed to Jane Alice Buck and Shirley's name was changed to Joyce Mary Buck. Jane graduated from Cornell High School in 1962.
In 1963 she married Jonathan Bonkrude. Four children were born to that union, Ronald, Jonathan, Tammy and Todd. They divorced and later she married Fielden (Mac) McDaniel. They resided in Odessa.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Mac; her brother, Alan; and her son, Johnny.
She is survived by her sister Joyce (Duane) West; two sons, Ronald (Wyndee) Bonkrude and Todd Leverton; and her daughter, Tammy (Odie) Capps. She is also survived by several grandchildren.
Jane and her sister Joyce courageously told their life story in a book called, "Beyond The Open Well."
Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home, Weatherford are handling funeral arrangements.
Graveside services are planned for Nov. 19, 2016. Her final resting place will be in Big Lake, Texas.
