James Edward Harrington, age 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, in Weatherford.
James was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Weatherford, to Raymond and Gertie Sharp Harrington. He was a retired dairy farmer, president and trustee for the Annetta Cemetery Association, and a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and Chairman of the Deacons.
James was a graduate of Aledo High School and played running back on the first Bearcat football team in 1946.
James is survived by his wife, Betty Harrington of Weatherford; daughter, Vivian Minnix and husband Jack of Weatherford; sons, Kenneth Harrington and wife Beth of Weatherford, Larry Harrington and wife Janice of Brock; sister, Joy Dell Prater of Arlington; brother, Joe Don Harrington of Weatherford; grandchildren, Stephanie Woods, Coley Minnix, Krissy Dickerson, Kayla Vallejo, Les Branson, Eric Branson, Kyle Branson and Jacob Harrington; and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 18, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Funeral Ceremony 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at the Victory Baptist church.
