James A. Griffin Jr., 68, of Millsap, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2017, at Soda Springs Baptist Church, 1801 Soda Springs Road, Millsap.
Burial: Azleland Memorial Park, Reno.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Soda Springs Baptist Church.
Memorials: Austin Griffin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Millsap High School, Attn: Wanda Gresham.
James was born Jan. 21, 1949, in Fort Worth to James Austin Griffin Sr. and Merle Pitcheit Griffin. He was raised at the Masonic Home in Fort Worth until he was adopted as a young boy by Ski and Merle Miskiewicz. In 1997 he became owner and operator of the Brazos River Catfish Cafe and Campground. Previously he was manager of West Bay Marina for 10 years.
James was a hard working, devoted church member, loving husband and father. He was a very successful business owner and had a dream fulfilled of owning his own restaurant and campground. James greeted all his customers and enjoyed having conversations with them all. They loved his stories too.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Austin Griffin; and his sister, Vickie Britton.
Survivors: Loving wife of 24 years, Sandra Griffin; brother, Jack Miskiewicz (Angel) of Millsap; sister, Debbie Stewart (Kevin) of Benbrook; brother, Billy Miskiewicz of Fort Worth; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and family of the Brazos River Catfish Cafe and Campground.
